The Story
Before launching Lock & Key Property Inspections in Fort Collins Colorado, Graham Granger gained hands-on experience working with homes through inspections, maintenance, repairs, and renovations. Most recently, he worked as a licensed home inspector in Virginia and served as Head of Maintenance for a property management company, where his team helped manage and maintain more than 100 homes and apartments. Graham has also completed more than 100 property inspections.
Through that experience, he came to see a home less as a collection of individual components and more as an interconnected system. Gutters and grading help protect the foundation. Paint, sealants, and flashing help protect the structure behind them. Routine HVAC maintenance can help prevent much larger problems. Neglect in one area can create consequences somewhere else.
That perspective changed the way Graham approached maintenance. Rather than treating every task as equally important, he focused attention on conditions most likely to create additional problems if neglected. He also learned that identifying a problem wasn't enough—it was important to explain why it mattered and what should happen next.
Working alongside contractors from different trades gave Graham additional opportunities to learn firsthand and better understand how the systems of a home work together. Together, these experiences helped shift his approach from reacting to problems toward anticipating and preventing them.
That experience became the foundation for Lock & Key Property Inspections. The name reflects a simple idea: finding the problem is only half the job. Understanding it and knowing the appropriate next step is the key.
Today, that philosophy shapes the entire inspection experience—from explaining what was observed, why it matters, and what is recommended next, to prioritizing findings and providing property-specific maintenance resources for the home afterward.

He has completed more than 100 home inspections, is an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector, graduated from The American Home Inspectors Training Institute, passed the National Home Inspector Exam, is a licensed home inspector in Virginia, and is professionally insured.

The report's Summary helps bring important information forward, while the complete report provides the full context organized by the home's systems and components.

Qualifying full home inspections include a Custom Maintenance Plan built around the systems, materials, and equipment identified at the property—not a generic homeowner checklist. The inspection helps you understand the home today. The maintenance system helps you care for it afterward.
Repair Pricing Support
Sometimes understanding the problem raises another question: What might it cost to address? When additional cost context would be useful, professional repair-pricing information is available by request for an additional fee. Repair pricing is intentionally separate from inspection priority because the most important problem isn't necessarily the most expensive—and the most expensive isn't necessarily the most urgent.
